Urawa City is the prefectural seat of Saitama prefecture, located approximately24 kilometers ( 14.9 miles ) north of Tokyo, the capital of Japan.
Saitama City extends east and west for 15.8 kilometers (9.8 miles), and north and south for 9.9 kilometers (6.1 miles) , looking like a bat with its wings spread.
At it's maximum it is 20.3 meters (66.6 feet) and at it's minimum 3.1 meters (10.2 feet) above the sea level with relatively many slopes. Saitama City is located at about 36 degrees latitude, on the same latitude with Teheran, the capital of Iran, Cyprus in the mediterranean sea and Las Vegas in the USA.
The climate in Saitama City is temperate, with the Highest temperature being around 36.5 graden (97.7 F) and the lowest temperature of about -5.9 graden (21.4 F) and annually, the temperature averages about 15graden (59F) . The annual average precipitation is about 1200 mm, the maximum precipitation falls in September, the typhoon season. In winter, there is a little snow fall, but in most cases, the snow melts within a day, causing practically no problem in the daily activities.

Founded in 1951 as one of the athletic and culture clubs of Reorganized Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Kobe.Joined the Japan Soccer League at its inauguration in 1965. Participate in the Japan Professional Football League that was inaugurated in May, 1993.
Home town is Urawa City, Saitama Prefecture.
URAWA RED DIAMONDS is a football club managed jointly by the Mitsubishi Football Team, the winners of ten titles, including the Japan Soccer League and the Emperor's Cup, and the Municipal Authorities of Urawa City, a town famous for its football tradition.

Er zijn vlaggen en megabanners in overvloed.

De Urawa Red Diamonds heeft een eigen supporters vereniging die zorgt voor sfeer aktiviteiten rondom wedstrijden. Zij organiseren tevens excursies, opendagen en rondleidingen voor de eigen aanhang.

De supporters van The Reds behoren tot de meest fanatieke supporters in Japan. Gedurende de gehele wedstrijd staan zij zingend en zwaaiend met vlaggen hun spelers aan te moedigen.
